Together we'll discuss your goals, identify opportunities and implement appropriate and workable solutions to help you use social media to advance your ministries and connect members in your faith community while offering them an invitation to explore a deeper faith experience.
Strategies for using social media are just new plans for developing and nurturing relationships. The “new technologies” Pope Benedict often speaks of, are really applications of what the Church has done throughout its history as it proclaims the Gospel, and relates each person to God through Jesus Christ, and every person to the community of His Church.
There are different types of social media: collaborative projects (e.g. Wikipedia), blogs and microblogs (e.g. Twitter), content communities (e.g. Youtube) and social networking sites (e.g. Facebook). Technologies include: blogs, picture-sharing, vlogs, wall-postings, email and instant messaging (‘texting”). Advantages of using these new forums for communication include their reach to any audience, availability at little-to-no cost, ease-of-use, and immediacy (point, click and publish).
