About

Hi, I'm Mark, the guy behind Transfigured.

Thanks for stopping by. If you're here, then you must have some interest in parish branding and communications.

I've worked with rural and urban parishes, area communities (clustered), and diocesan ministries. As a communications director, I created and managed the communications for a parish with 2,500+ families. The pastor's management style (and trust) allowed me the flexibility and latitude to take the parish's communications in a fresh, new direction. I had the opportunity of directing and managing the parish through a comprehensive rebranding. I've design and implement extensive parish branding systems, designed liturgical campaigns, stewardship, formation, volunteer recruitment, ministry and 7-figure capital campaigns, and I have worked with most of the technologies, platforms and companies in the communications space serving Catholic parishes.

In my early years of parish work, I often looked around to see what my peers in other parishes were doing. Quality of communication was often based on parish size - larger parish, better communications. I saw a lot of inconsistency and lack of understanding of some basic communications design principals. I learned parishes are better at "announcing" events and activities than "promoting" them. I also found out parishioners are quick to notice change, and are most often receptive and supportive when viewed as helping the parish. I've come to a better understanding of Catholic parish life, communities and the people, ministries and mission that make them work.

During my career, I worked in corporate communications, owned an advertising and design firm, and worked as a brand communication consultant with technology companies, consumer services, private equity and non-profit organizations. I also volunteered and consulted with my home parish as well as other parish communities that had reached out for assistance. My faith, admiration and appreciation of sacred art, interest in graphic design and desire to see parish communities raise the bar and make a greater commitment to their communication ministries have guided me here.

Born, baptized and raised in a traditional Catholic home in the 60s and 70s, I've been married to my wife Kathy for over 40 years, and we have been blessed with 3 children and 5 grandchildren. They are the true blessings in my life. My hope is to become a parish resource that helps parishes put their best foot forward, and share the Word boldly and confidently.
